Gloria Gaither
Gloria Gaither – accomplished lyricist, author and speaker – has been married to singer/songwriter Bill Gaither for 50 years. Parents of three and grandparents of seven Bill and Gloria still live in the small town of Alexandria, Indiana where they first met teaching high school English.
Gloria graduated from Anderson University cum laude with honors (and majors) in English, French, and Sociology. She holds a Masters of Arts degree in Literature from Ball State University and has remained involved in higher education; serving on the Board of Directors of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities and has also served on the Board of the United Christian College Fund. Lyricist for over 700 songs she has been elected to the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and, together with her husband, is the recipient of many Dove awards and GRAMMY®s. She has received honorary doctorates from eight colleges and universities including her alma mater.
In addition to her songwriting, Gloria has authored more than a score of books for adults and children, created greeting card lines, produced a video series for children (Homecoming Kids Series), contributed to dozens of periodicals and was instrumental in creating Homecoming Magazine.
