Jason Clayborn

Worship minister, vocalist, and songwriter Jason Clayborn may be achieving a new level of notoriety in the industry due to his composition of 2016’s massive Hezekiah Walker hit, “Better,” but those in the know have been appreciating his heart and talent for many years.

Having grown up in the church, Clayborn began his professional music career in the Dove and Stellar Award nominated Christian hip-hop group, The Righteous Riders. He quickly migrated toward local and regional church ministry as a solo artist, a worship pastor, a vocal arranger, and a songwriter. He has released three independent projects, Rhythm and Praise Vol. 1, MusicWordTieology, and The Heart of the People, and has travelled extensively with Pastor Ron Kenoly and Bishop Hezekiah Walker.  His current group, Jay and The Team, regularly ministers at churches around the world. A prolific songwriter, Jason has had songs cut by Vashawn Mitchell, Dexter Walker and Zion Movement, The Soul Sisters of St. Stephen, and most recently, Wess Morgan and Ricky Dillard.

In addition to his weekly ministerial duties at his home church in Louisville, Kentucky, Jason has been making time to travel to Nashville for songwriting appointments with some of the best writers in Gospel, CCM, Contemporary Worship and Contemporary R&B music. “God has opened some amazing doors over the last year,” he says. “I’m committed to doing everything I can to bless the church, to serve other artists, and to bring outsiders into the community of faith through music.”

Jason Clayborn is published by eOne Publishing, Nashville, and is available for co-writing by appointment. Contact John J. Thompson, Creative Director for eOne, at JohnThompson@entonegroup.com for more information.
